Straight answers about who we are, what we do, and how we work.
About eBurst Advocate
Are you a law firm or attorneys?
No. eBurst Advocate is a non-attorney legal consulting and document preparation service operated by eBurst Services Inc. Our consultants are not licensed attorneys and we are not a law firm. Licensed attorneys in our network are independent professionals who engage with clients separately.
What does "Advocate" mean in your name and titles?
"Advocate" describes our role in supporting and organizing your matter. It does not mean we are licensed to practice law or that we will argue on your behalf in court. In the United States, only licensed attorneys may represent others in court.
Can you give me legal advice?
No. We cannot give legal advice, tell you what your rights are, recommend legal strategy, or tell you what to file. We can give you general, publicly available procedural information and prepare documents based on information you provide.
Is what I tell you confidential or privileged?
We treat your information as confidential and protect it as described in our Privacy Policy. However, communications with non-attorneys are not protected by the attorney-client privilege and could potentially be subject to subpoena or disclosure in litigation.
Do you handle criminal cases?
No. We assist with civil matters only. For criminal matters, please contact a criminal defense attorney or your local Public Defender's Office.
Services & Pricing
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Both the 30-minute and 1-hour Case Organization & Process Consultations are free. They cover our services, fees, and general court procedures. They do not include legal advice or strategy.
Do your prices include court filing fees?
No. Court filing fees, sheriff and process server fees, notary fees, certified copy fees, and any independent attorney fees are separate and paid by you.
Can you tell me which form or service I need?
We cannot select legal forms or tell you which legal action to take — that would be legal advice. We can describe each of our services, provide official form instructions, and give you general information. If you are unsure what you need legally, we recommend consulting an attorney; we can introduce you to one in our network.
Will you go to court or mediation with me?
No. We prepare hearing packets, trial binders, and mediation binders so you are organized, but you attend and speak for yourself (or through your attorney).
Will you negotiate with my landlord, creditor, or the other party?
It depends on what is being negotiated.
Business deals — yes, through eBurst Services. Our parent company, eBurst Services, provides business consulting, including negotiating the commercial terms of contracts and deals (pricing, scope of work, timelines, vendor and service terms) for business clients. Those negotiations cover business terms only; legal terms and the final agreement should be reviewed by your attorney.
Legal disputes and claims — no. eBurst Advocate does not negotiate legal disputes, claims, or lawsuits for you, such as eviction or security deposit disputes, debt collection claims, settlement of a pending case, or demands involving your legal rights. For these, we prepare the letters and correspondence you send, organize your documents, and help you structure your own talking points. If you want someone to negotiate a legal dispute for you, you need a licensed attorney — we can introduce you to one in our Attorney Network.

Can you file my documents with the court?
Yes. E-filing is one of our services. Once you have reviewed, approved, and signed your final documents, we submit them to the court electronically for you, exactly as you signed them, and send you the filing confirmation. This is a filing (courier) service only: you remain the filing party of record, the documents carry your name and signature, and court notices and service from the other side go to you at your own contact information. We never sign documents for you, change a document after you sign it, or appear in the case. We also coordinate service of process with a sheriff or licensed process server.
Why are wills and prenuptial agreements "attorney-coordinated"?
These documents carry significant legal consequences and often require legal advice. We coordinate them with an independent licensed attorney in our network, who is responsible for legal advice and final legal review. We handle intake, information gathering, and document organization.
How long does document preparation take?
Most services are completed within 3–7 business days after we receive all of your information. Packages and complex matters may take longer. Rush service may be available for an additional fee.
What payment methods do you accept? Do you offer refunds?
Payment methods and refund terms are set out in your written engagement agreement. Generally, fees for work already performed are non-refundable. See our Terms of Service.
Docket Review
What exactly do you do when you review my docket?
We help you locate your case, download available filings, and build an organized chronological index of the documents and the dates the court has published. We do not interpret orders or advise on what to do next. See Docket Review Assistance.
Can you tell me my deadline to respond?
We can tell you any date that is expressly stated in a court order, notice, or summons, and point you to the published rule. We cannot calculate legal deadlines for your specific situation — please confirm deadlines with an attorney or the Clerk.
Location & Attorneys
Do you work outside Florida?
Yes. We primarily work in Florida and accept matters in all 50 states, subject to each state's rules on non-attorney assistance. See our Service Area page.
Can you connect me with an attorney?
Yes. We can introduce you to licensed attorneys in our network. You choose whether to hire an attorney, and the attorney engages and bills you directly. We do not receive referral fees. You may also contact The Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Service at 1-800-342-8011.
