How It Works

A documented, transparent process designed to keep you in control of every decision in your matter.

1. Free Consultation (30 or 60 minutes)

We learn what you are trying to accomplish, confirm your matter is civil, explain our non-attorney role, and describe the services and fees available. We provide general procedural information only. If your situation appears to need an attorney, we will tell you and offer an introduction from our Attorney Network.

2. Written Engagement & Disclosure

Before any paid work begins, you receive a written engagement agreement stating the service, flat fee, timeline, and what is excluded. You also sign our Non-Attorney Disclosure (and, for Florida family law forms, Form 12.900(a), Disclosure from Nonlawyer). Payment is collected per the agreement.

3. Information Gathering

You provide the facts, documents, and decisions for your matter — in writing, through our intake questionnaire. You choose the forms or document type you want prepared. We help you gather and organize supporting records and, if applicable, your docket.

4. Preparation & Formatting

Our consultants type and format your documents using your information, assemble exhibits, and check formatting against the applicable court rules. Typical turnaround is 3–7 business days depending on the service; rush service may be available.

5. Your Review & Approval

You review every document. You may request corrections to reflect your information accurately. Nothing is finalized until you approve it, and you sign your own documents.

6. Filing, Service & Hearing Preparation

If you purchased these services, we e-file your signed documents with the court for you (you remain the filing party of record), coordinate service of process through a sheriff or licensed process server, and prepare hearing packets or trial binders. You attend all hearings yourself or with your attorney.

7. Ongoing Docket Tracking (optional)

We can monitor your docket for new filings and published dates and notify you so you can decide your next steps or consult an attorney.
